How does it work?

Load up your items and bring them to Faith Presbyterian Church parking lot at 82nd and Hague. As you enter the parking lot, a greeter will ask what type of items you have and direct you to the appropriate trucks.

What can I bring?
  • Items to be shredded:
    • Paper
    • Blueprints
    • Colored paper, especially the lighter bleachable colors like Post It notes and NCR forms
    • Staples and paperclips
    • *Note* We cannot shred: hanging folders and binder clips; remove metal and plastic before presenting; plastics
  • Small appliances in working order
  • Furniture-nothing broken or torn
  • Household goods that are gently used

    • Paintings/pictures/framed art

  • Bare CRT
  • Parted-Out CRT/Monitor

**Note: Some items may be declined due to size or questionable characteristics.**

Is there anything I shouldn't bring?

We are not able to accept the following items:

  • tools and building supplies (as of 2024, we are no longer able to accept donations of tools and building supplies)
  • hanging folders and binder clips; remove metal and plastic before presenting; plastics
  • Any products recalled by the CPSC, U.S. CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION: 1-800-638-2772or CPSC.GOV, www.SaferProduct.GOV
  • used car seats cribs manufactured before June 2011
  • bassinets, infant walkers, highchairs, bunkbeds, bath seats, bed rails, play yards, toy chests: THAT DO NOT MEET THE CURRENT SAFETY STANDARDS
  • household chemicals: pesticides, paint products, drain & oven cleaners and any environmentally-unfriendly waste products
  • automotive waste: batteries, antifreeze, tires, oil, additives, parts, etc.
  • broken appliances
  • carpet or carpet padding
  • weapons
  • mattress or box springs, waterbeds
  • CRT, video projector DLP, or rear projection TVs
  • large fitness equipment
  • broken or in-need-of-repair furniture
  • used personal care products
  • toys with magnets, painted wood, small parts, stuffed animals
  • halogen torchiere floor lamps, bean bag chairs, bowling balls
  • bare CRT tubes
  • broken CRT Screen
  • broken microwaves to be recycled
  • cardboard: (Unless electronics are packaged inside of a cardboard box)
  • cassette tapes

  • electric lamps
  • items containing PCBs (Polychlorinated biphenyl) – PCBs are found in certain capacitors & transformers.
  • oil & other petroleum products
  • glass Bottles
  • light bulbs (Unless already part of the electronic device such as projectors)
  • plastic not from electronics
  • chemicals not related to electronic equipment
  • tin cans / Aluminum
  • miscellaneous trash
  • mercury-containing devices (light bulbs, thermometers, thermostats)
  • styrofoam / Packing Material
  • vinyl
  • wood products (Unless already a part of the electronic device such as a television)
  • combustible items
Is there a cost?

There is no cost for donating items or for paper shredding. However, there is a cost of $20 or $50 for some e-waste items.

Can I make a monetary donation?

Yes! Any monetary donations will go to missions in our community.
