ILLUSTRATE FORGIVENESS AND NEW LIFE
Easter is a time to live in hope. This season is an opportunity to live into the hope of God’s love and grace. Illustrate this by doing the following:
Gather the following supplies :
- A dirty penny
- a cup
- 1 tsp. salt
- ¼ cup of vinegar
With the kids, combine the vinegar and salt in a cup.
Drop the dirty penny into the cup and allow it to sit for about five minutes.
When you pull the penny out of the cup, you will find the old, dirty penny has been transformed into a clean, shiny penny.
Take a moment to talk about how God covers us with grace and forgives us when we hurt others or make mistakes. Just as the dirty penny becomes clean, God chooses to wash away our mistakes and call us to live a new life in Jesus Christ.

READ A CHILDREN’S BIBLE WITH YOUR KIDS
Read the Bible with your kids. You can start anywhere. Start at the beginning or the middle. Read a chapter a day.
If you want to hear the story of Jesus’ life, read through the gospel of Mark.
Here are a few Bibles for you to consider reading with your children.

LIVING WITH JOY
Joy is a deep-down gladness that cannot be taken away. The resurrection of Jesus teaches us that Jesus turns our tears into shouts of “Alleluia”! With our faith in Jesus, we can hold onto this sense of joy and gratitude.
To help instill a sense of joy and gratitude, begin a practice around the dinner table. Take a moment to invite everyone to share something that brought them joy or that they are grateful for that day. Sometimes the answers can be as simple as noticing the blooming of new flowers or the kindness of a friend. Sharing our joy and gratitude provides an opportunity to practice living in joy!
