We enter the biblical narrative of God’s action in human history “already in progress”. We are plopped down in the middle of major crisis: Noah and the flood. The expression “God will make a way out of no way” comes from the African-American experience. Out of terrible encounters with oppression, grew a deep trust that God and God’s tenacious people could make a way through any situation.
We spend six weeks witnessing Hebrew Bible stories of God urging the people forward in times. We recall our own narratives and affirm the blessings of a God who makes a way out of no way.
