“Dear Cousin John….” 2 comments A sermon from Matthew 3:13-28 2 Comments Ricci Waters on January 19, 2021 at 9:58 pm Wonderful sermon, Charlotte. I’ve been thinking about it off and on these last couple of days, and I did again tonight during the memorial service on the Washington mall for those who have died from Covid19. A nurse who cared for COVID patients was recorded singing at work, and it apparently went viral. From that, she was invited to sing the same hymn, Amazing Grace, to the nation at the memorial service, and she said YES. I realized if I had been asked to do that (even if I could carry a tune), I would have been too afraid to say yes. “Who am I to . . . when there are others who are much better qualified?” Your sermon hasn’t finished with me yet. Thank you. Reply clohrenzch on January 20, 2021 at 9:24 am I thought the same thing when I saw her standing out there in that enormous space, singing to millions of people. We all have such large – and small – tasks to do for God’s realm. I have confidence in what the Spirit is calling you to do, Ricci.
