Who are you as you travel through the world –
whether it is in your own neighborhood or around the world?
A tourist – moving from one place to another to get through the itinerary?
A traveler – open to connecting with new people, places, and experiences?
A researcher – studying situations or locations?

All of these are worthy ways to go.

What if you also had the heart of a pilgrim – on a quest for meaning and relationship?

Wellspring Café, on Monday, June 20, will help us explore bringing the heart of pilgrim to our daily lives, with adventures close to home.

This episode of Wellspring Café includes a filmed interview with the Abbotts, a family that regularly sets off on family adventures. We will also learn from Rick Steves, who encourages us to see travel (in our neighborhood and around the world) as a spiritual practice. Rick Steves is a popular public television host, a best-selling guidebook author, and an outspoken activist who encourages Americans to broaden their perspectives through travel.

Participants will get practical tips for having low-cost or no-cost adventures and explore the barriers to getting out and away.

Adventures close to home are a great way to practice being a pilgrim.  Adventures don’t have to be daring, long, far from home or expensive.  The opportunities are all around us. Every day, we can travel through the world with the heart of a pilgrim, enriching our lives, caring for the world, and developing friendships and community.
