Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Part 2

The International OCD Foundation lists some common obsessions in OCD, including obsessions with or involving contamination, sex, religion/morality, identity, violence, responsibility, perfectionism-related, relationship-related, and death/existence.

Not all repetitive behaviors or rituals are compulsions.  However, some compulsions with OCD can include washing/cleaning, mental compulsions, and repeating and checking compulsions.  For more detail and information about these obsessions and compulsions, visit the International OCD Foundation website here.

How do I know if I have OCD? Take a self-test, such as this one, or contact a health professional. Find more resources on the Embrace Mental Wellness page.
