Many of us check the news on a daily basis in one form or another.  But have you ever stopped to consider how many of the newscasters, journalists, and others whose work you consume have an appearance or perspective that is similar to your own?

The news is not just black and white.  When we consume media from a narrow range of humanity, we get stuck in “bubbles” and miss out on interesting and important points of view.  Diverse journalism make us more well-informed and prepared to make decisions on complex issues.  One way to break free is to intentionally follow news sources from other communities.  There are lots to choose from!  To name a few: Native News Online, ICT, National Native News, NBC Latino, Latino News Network, the Washington Informer, NBC BLK, Black Voice News, NBC Asian America, and AsAmNews.  Look at a few and see what you think!
