Medical and health discussions abound due to both advances in medicine and challenges from reduced government support of medical programs.

Today we wanted to share information about a program which is attempting to address some of these issues.  The infant mortality rates vary from state to state.  However, the infant mortality rate for non-Hispanic black babies is more than double the rate for non-Hispanic white babies.  Black women have triple the maternal mortality rate of White women.

Meet Dads to Doulas, a program which attempts to reduce the high infant mortality rate among black babies through education and training of expectant Black fathers.  Their mission focuses on improving the family and community. This program was recently introduced in Indiana, including an August session in Marion county.  Please share this information with those who would benefit from this program.
