By Woody Collins, Congo Helping Hands
After three months, I’m back in Indianapolis, at least for a few weeks. Thanks be to God! As I stated before, it’s a journey!! I will be monitoring and supervising our water operations from here. As such, I will continue to live in two worlds with two different time zones.
Primarily, my time here will be devoted to resupply of US-based supplies and equipment. For example, I have ordered a tape which measures water depth and water temperature. The solar pumps that we plan to use is sensitive to high water temperature. Therefore, we must select the proper class of solar pump to prevent their premature failure. And, as you may remember, our water system data is based on the use of smartphones. Before I left, I was surprised when two phones stopped communicating with the Lorentz SmartTap app. That’s shocking and the first time in our four years of use. So, maybe new smartphones are needed.
Equally, I want to answer your questions and to provide additional background to the Congo experience.
