With a deep sense of compassion for the overwhelming loss from the pandemic, Faith Presbyterian Church announces plans for constructing a COVID-19 Community Memorial.

The overall design of the nine-foot structure will include tiles with names inscribed, each a personal memorial to someone whose life was claimed by COVID-19. The Memorial will be a permanent installation, with high public accessibility on the church grounds.

There is no cost to participate. Simply complete our online form below and submit it, including life dates, a brief description of the person, your relationship to the person being remembered, and, if possible, a photo. The first 500 names will be inscribed on a tile and become part of the Memorial. Those names and all other submissions will be listed on this memorial webpage.

The symbol for this project comes from the parable of the mustard seed. In the Gospel of Matthew, the parable is as follows: The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, sown in the field; it is the smallest of seeds, but when it is grown, it becomes a tree, so the birds of the air come and lodge and make nests in its branches.

With your contact information, we will keep you updated on the progress of the mosaic mural and invite you to the dedication ceremony when the COVID-19 Community Memorial is completed.

As a simple expression of compassion, Faith Church creates this sacred space for the community to come together for solace and healing from the ongoing loss, trauma, and grief surrounding COVID-19.

Submissions will be received through Sunday, September 1, 2024.

The Memorial will be dedicated on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
The dedication will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend inperson.
